About the Archive

The Sacred Canon Archive is an illuminated reference to two millennia of Christian thought — the philosophers, theologians, mystics, reformers, ecumenical councils, and foundational writings that shaped the faith of East and West.

Every profile is written to be read: not a database entry, but a short essay on why this person or this council still matters. Every foundational text opens into a reader with the original language of the source, drawn from public-domain translations.

The archive is deliberately ecumenical. Augustine sits beside Origen, Aquinas beside Barth, Nicaea beside Vatican II. Where traditions divide — Chalcedonian and Oriental Orthodox, Catholic and Reformed — the divisions are named honestly rather than smoothed away.

Faith seeking understanding — fides quaerens intellectum.
